New Children in Care Report Shows Children At Risk of Harm in Care and Calls for Reset

Surprise surprise, yet another report finds that care often doesn't work for children. The new report states:

'What we have currently is a system increasingly skewed to crisis intervention, with outcomes for children that continue to be unacceptably poor and costs that continue to rise. For these reasons, a radical reset is now unavoidable'

Encouraging noises, but we've heard it all before. Where is the courage to proactively set a reduced figure for the number of children in care, to train social workers properly (and not get away with a ridiculous generic social work degree), and to provide the family support that is so vitally needed?
